Training and Resources

That’s why we offer a wide range of training and development opportunities for youth leaders and volunteers. We deliver, support and facilitate a range of programmes which include nationally recognised awards and qualifications. We focus on leadership training and have developed courses for a future generation of competent leaders.

Our training and resources mean that leaders can make the biggest possible impact on young people in their clubs – raising their aspirations and providing positive experiences.

In 2011:

• We supported the delivery of over 900 accredited awards including Leadership and Management, Event Organisation, Child Protection and Umpiring 
• We trained tutors from more than half our member organisations in Sports Leadership – these tutors then trained 450 sports volunteers who now pass on their skills to hundreds of young people 
• Nearly 200 young volunteers completed National Open College Network Awards in Leadership Development 
• As well as a comprehensive review of our training services, we set set up a Training Action Group. This national training partnership is working to develop sustainable training opportunities for voluntary youth organisations.
